Australian Nanotechnology Strategy

The Australian government will develop a National Nanotechnology Strategy.

The Australian government has just released an Industry Report, which contains a 10-year strategic vision of Australian industrial policy.

The government will invest A $ 21.5 million (about € 13.3 million) over the next four years in a National Nanotechnology Strategy to ensure that Australia reaps the full benefits of nanotechnology.

As part of the plan, the government will strengthen relations between the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), and businesses, through an additional flagship research project of some € 22.4 million for the development of market niches. This investment will be made for four years. The flagship project will work with industry to create business opportunities from CSIRO's research, specifically in nanotechnology.
